In lovely collaboration with Lacoste.

EN: Lisbon – the beautiful capital of Portugal, which we fell in love with in a really short time. The city on the west coast has a lot to offer: Many museums, historical buildings, the most beautiful house fronts, very good food (the pastéis de Belém literally drove us out of our minds), great cafés, restaurants and bars, the proximity to the sea and simply people, who know how to enjoy life! These 4 days we’ve been there, we certainly couldn’t see and explore everything, however we didn’t want to withhold our memories. What we took with us to this journey were our new beloved Lacoste sneakers from the #madeforher line. The perfect kind of shoes to be out and about all day and to discover all the beautiful places of the city. If you ask us, sneakers are the most comfortable shoes for travelling, you get home in the evening without having unhappy feet. For City Trips we always prefer to go for a more casual style, nevertheless we sometimes feel like dressing up a little to feel a bit more feminine again. The Lacoste sneakers go well with both looks since they unite the sporty and feminine vibe. We especially fell for the silver model, Eyyla, which is a real eye catcher. But we also like the classic, white Straightset with the little crocodile on it, cause it goes well with nearly everything. Both shoes have been the perfect companion for our exploration tour through Lisbon. Let’s see where they led us…

Pastéis de Belém

DE
:

This is something you definitely shouldn’t miss when in Lisbon! The „pastel de nata“ is a traditional, portuguese egg tart pastry and we tried it for the very first time in the original Confeitaria Pastéis de Belém, where the original tarts have been made since 1837. And wow, we were totally overwhelmed by these little treats. We have a sweet tooth, so it was quite obvious, that we would like it, but guys you can’t even imagine how good they were 😀 You get them fresh out of the oven, so they’re still warm and to make it clear: it’s the best (sweet stuff) we’ve ever had!! And no pastel de nata, which we had in other cafés afterwards, was rudimentarily that good as the original ones in Belém. So you definitely have to go and try them, even if you have to wait there at least for 30 minutes 🙂

Ponte 25 de Abril

DE
:

EN
:
The bridge „ponte 25 de abril“ is -for us- the little sister of the Golden Gate Bridge and it connects Lisbon with the south bank of the Tagus River, where also the statue „Cristo Rei“ is located. In the evening you have a wonderful view at the riverside in Belém of the bridge and the statue. Looking at the sunset here was simply amazing. From time to time some sailing boats passed by and the sky slowly turned pink, that was such a beautiful sight. A little tip: check out the viewing platform of the museum MAAT, it’s free (at least it was in the evening). The view is even better and the platform itself is also a real highlight 🙂

Praca do Comércio

DE
:

EN
:
The „Praca do Comércio“ is still one of the most important and biggest places in Lisbon. Before the earthquake and the tsunami in 1755 the Royal Palace was located here for about 200 years and the Praca do Comércio was the Palace ground. We were especially impressed by the bright and huge archway, which leads into the city.

Probably one of the hippest spots in Lisbon! Modern and young meets creativity. You can find cool cafés here, the hippest book store we’ve ever been to (Livraria Ler Devagar) and amazing streetart artists. A pretty cool modern contrast to the rather historical city core.

Bairro Alto, Alfama & Time Out Market

DE
:
Also definitiv eine riesen Empfehlung unsererseits.

EN:
The districts Bairro Alto and Alfama probably have the most beautiful streets and alleys of the city with the typical pretty house fronts you have in mind when thinking of Lisbon. Moreover you can find a lot of great, to some extrend family-run restaurants! One personal tip is this address: Lisboa TU & EU (Rua da Adica 58). The restaurant is really small and you sit very closely side by side, which totally makes this place up and it’s definitley not overrun with tourists. We almost tried everything from the menu. The dishes were served as little tapas and it was beyond delicious. Credits go to our brother, who already went to Lisbon a couple of times and who at one time randomly ended up here with his girlfriend. They also had the honor to meet the owner of the restaurant, a real one of a kind. For food we can also recommend the Time Out Market. Here you can find a great selection of foodstands in a big hall. It was really delicious and the variety in one place is just so nice. Besides we ate the second best pastels de nata here, which we got from Manteigaria. They also came fresh out of the oven and were still warm, yumm 🙂

So these were all of our hot spots and tips from Lisbon. We hope we can visit the city again soon since we haven’t seen everything yet and we definitely wanna come back – of course the biggest reason is to eat those delicious pasteis again 😀 We hope you enjoyed reading this post and we’re looking forward to hearing your feedback. xx Su & Chris
